In 2022 Keel Toys marked its 75th anniversary, and celebrated by reaching an incredible milestone in the company’s bid to ensure its collections are as eco-friendly as possible.

The brand’s imaginative, cute and coveted toy collections aren’t just hugely sought after, they’re also increasingly sustainable – with 70% of the entire collection now made from 100% recycled materials. And this means that Keel Toys can now offer its business partners the most complete sustainable soft toy collection in today’s marketplace.
In 2020 Keel Toys designed and launched Keeleco, a 100% recycled range of soft toys, that are as huggable as they are environmentally aware. These beautiful, eco-friendly plush characters are manufactured and filled with 100% recycled polyester made from plastic waste. This process gives plastic a second life, and ten 500ml water bottles produce enough fibre to make an 18cm toy.
Even the iconic Keel logo and hangtag are now formed from card certified by the Forest Stewardship Council and attached to each toy with cotton. Not only that but the shipping cartons they travel in are themselves made from 100% recycled board.
In just the couple of years since Keeleco was launched, Keel Toys has reached the incredible figure of more than 100 million water bottles being recycled in the manufacture of the range, which now includes: Wild, Farm, Sealife, Dinosaurs, Teddy Bears, Puppies, Kittens, Nursery, Seasonal and the latest edition, Keeleco Adoptable World.
Keeleco Adoptable World will be on show at both Harrogate Christmas & Gift and Spring Fair and is the first fashion eco soft toy of its kind. The collection features 24 adorable animals in a range of sizes, all waiting to be adopted by a new owner. This will be followed by the launch of the Mini Adoptable World collection of characters in 2023.
The original Keeleco Wild, Farm, Sealife and Dinosaur ranges have been extended to over 200 products making it the most comprehensive collection available. Brand new additions include the wonderfully colourful family of snakes and uniquely patterned super soft lobster and puffer fish, to name a few. Each and every Keeleco toy is exquisitely designed and its best-selling dinosaurs are no exception featuring beautifully textured exclusive fabrics and embroideries. Brand new arrivals to this range include magnificent mini dinosaurs, Spinosaurus and ankylosaurus.
In 2021 the Keeleco Baby collection launched, and proved to be an instant success with customers. Marcel Monkey and Ezra Elephant are recent additions to the natural-inspired range.
In total the expanded Keeleco range now features more than 350 products and this is only set to grow throughout 2023 with Keel Toys’ incredible design team already hard at work on new pieces. No wonder Keel Toys is the number one sustainable soft toy supplier in the sector!
