From quality Christmas pieces to be treasured year after year to beautiful homeware showcasing the work of fine artists, Lesser & Pavey always shine at Harrogate. We caught up with Director Jonny Greves to find out what’s in store…

During the Christmas season one of the family traditions that people love to share in and enjoy is setting a festive table – one that not only looks eye-catching but also includes treasured pieces.
Lesser & Pavey has long been known as the home of quality tabletop items at Christmas time, combining practicality with nostalgia and stunning design. But this year the 52-year-old company is bring a wealth of seasonal ranges to both Harrogate Christmas & Gift and Spring Fair.

Lesser & Pavey Harrogate 2023

Think festive fragrances, traditional illustration of historical Christmas scenes, quality gifts that last, seasonal candles and diffusers and coveted household items, including fine mugs, coasters and mats – to name a few – and the new addition of a two-tier cake stand and doorstop. There’s also new glassware, LED lights, cushions and festive stockings to look out for.
Lesser & Pavey also has a long tradition of working with the MacNeil Studios, with products that bring to life ever-popular snowy Christmas scenes, featuring a snow-covered cottage, British wildlife and all the magic of the festive season. Homewares showcasing this beautiful artwork include mugs, plates and a butter dish.

What is the Lesser & Pavey team most looking forward to at Harrogate this year?
Harrogate is a great opportunity early in the calendar to showcase and focus solely on Christmas. As always the best part is meeting our customers. Lesser & Pavey enjoy the atmosphere of exhibitions and the opportunity to display full ranges at the show. Exhibitions provide an excellent opportunity to catch up with regular buyers, and we are always delighted to meet new customers, showing them all the new ranges that have been developed by our team.

And what can we expect from you at Spring Fair?
Lesser & Pavey devote the entire back of our show stand at the NEC for our Christmas ranges, whilst also lunching hundreds of other new products. For us Christmas seems to become a bigger event in retailing each year somehow.

Lesser & Pavey has built an envied reputation for championing fine artists – such as the MacNeil Studio – do you think this is something that sets you apart?
We’ve always focused on bringing quality items to the market place and working with the MacNeil Studio for around two decades now is a continuation of this. Their traditional style of artwork works well for Christmas products which our customers have come to love due to the popularity with the consumer.
We also offer festive ranges from British illustrator Jennifer Rose, featuring beautiful watercolour red breasted robins and wintery wildlife. These are increasing in popularity each year for customers looking for a more ‘niche’ style of design. We’re also showcasing some new British artists for Christmas 2023 at Harrogate.

What ranges are you predicting will be most popular with buyers for 2023?
This is a discussion that takes place amongst our team every year and it’s hard to call! Lesser & Pavey have got so many exciting new ranges to unveil, each one with its own particular appeal. I must mention our brand-new plus reindeers, snowmen, gingerbread men and Santa that are launching for Christmas 2023, as well as new ranges from The MacNeil Studio, Jennifer Rose, Karen Tye Bentley, as well as other newer licensed ranges.
If buyers are looking for tradition and a focus on nature then the Winter Robin range must be a best seller for all.
