Harrogate Christmas & Gift show: Hall M, Stand M25
With four generations of festive expertise, Weiste will once again be bringing its beautiful collection of Christmas decorations to Harrogate. Product Director Johanna Weiste spoke to CinJ…
There’s more than a century of magic to Finnish festive decoration specialist Weiste.
Hailing from the home of Santa Claus, this family company’s story began life in 1924. It all started with newsagent Kalle Weiste doing a roaring trade with Christmas tree top stars – and 102 years later the team is preparing to unveil a carefully selected preview of its 2026 collection at Harrogate, tailored specially for the UK market.
Trade is now led by the fourth generation of Kalle’s family, and Weiste has continued to focus exclusively on Christmas decorations.
“We’ve built a reputation for quality, consistency and distinctive design,” says Product Director, Johanna Weiste. “We’re particularly well known for decorative garlands, and our 40 years of supplying the UK market has given us a strong understanding of local retail trends and consumer preferences.”
The 2026 Weiste collection offers versatile themes designed to perform across a range of retail settings. Enchanted Luxe pairs rich burgundy with classic Christmas red and antique green, delivering depth and traditional appeal with a contemporary edge.
Cashmere Cocoa introduces warm, layered browns softened with subtle pink accents, ideal for modern interiors and coordinated displays. And Arctic Diamond brings light and sparkle to winter merchandising, offering a fresh, elegant look with strong visual impact.
At the heart of Weiste’s offering is its in-house design capability, allowing for cohesive collections and reliable continuity season after season. Part of the company’s unique style is the inspiration it draws from the Finnish winter landscape, snow, ice and forest wildlife that gives the range a distinctive identity that appeals across international markets.
Weiste has been closely associated with tinsel since the company was founded. It was one of its earliest products and is still a best-selling category today. And while the collection has expanded significantly over the decades, tinsel continues to anchor Weiste’s product portfolio, alongside new developments.
The Christmas collection is also complemented by Weiste’s iconic decorative mice and elegant glass ornaments, offering retailers strong add-on potential and cohesive storytelling at shelf and display level.
So, with a balance of proven bestsellers, fresh design direction and market-led themes, the 2026 collection is set to provide retailers with a flexible and commercially sound assortment for the festive season ahead.
