Must See at Christmas & Gift: Straits Trading

Straits Trading has been a regular exhibitor at Christmas & Gift for 12 years – but this year they’re expanding…

Straits Trading has been attending the Christmas & Gift show since 2013 – and Harrogate is a crucial show for company.

Each year there is an increase in both the number of orders taken and the average order value. In fact, the overall value of orders Straits take at Harrogate is comparable to the revenue it generates from Spring Fair, which really highlights the importance of the event.

With that in mind, for 2026 the company has made the decision to move to a larger exhibition stand in Hall G. And not only that, but compared to its offering at the 2025 show, Straits has increased the number of Christmas items by 45%. In total the team will be bringing more than 700 lines to their customers for the 2026 festive season. So, you can see why a bigger show stand was necessary!

Marketing Manager Sophie Aldred says that another perk of the move will be the new proximity to the Kaemingk stand. “Our product offering is different from Kaemingk, so we complement each other and will sit well together in Hall G,” she explains. “Our existing customers seek us out at the show, so it will be great to entice new business through footfall.”

“Continuing its successful product line Straits has selected a wide range of light-up glassware and best-selling glitter water spinners, but for 2026 there’s a fresh theme for the products – Festive with a Function”

The bumper new Christmas collection has a lot to offer, from expanding and improving existing ranges to introducing brand-new products and themes.

Continuing its successful product line Straits has selected a wide range of light-up glassware and best-selling glitter water spinners, but for 2026 there’s a fresh theme for the products – ‘Festive with a Function’. This idea has worked well for Straits for several years and it’s a proposition that has grown with this collection. Beautiful decorations that have been developed to offer even more magic to the consumer.

This could be glitter water spinners with animated characters, more detailed casing (such as the beautiful Santa Carriage), or layered ‘3D’ illustrations within the spinner. They have light-up glassware that rotates to create a sparkling light show.

And it’s not just light-up decorations that have been given the magic touch either – adorable plush characters sing with moving mouths, showstopping Santas dance and play music, and even hanging decorations have been given their own light-up stand as part of a package offer.

In addition to the Christmas product portfolio, Straits will also be bringing some of their core autumn and winter lines to the show, such as lanterns and their Halloween collection.

The Halloween range follows the same ‘Festive with a Function’ theme. It includes a modest range of scary animated characters, moving decorations, and detailed spooky water spinners. And buyers should prepare themselves for bumping into the clown!

It’s a truly exciting time for the company, but also for Sophie herself. “I have a seven-year-old, so Christmas is an incredibly magical time for me,” she says. “I look at products and imagine them through his eyes. Having a mummy who works at ‘Christmas Land’ is a proud boast for him too!”
